Theragenics Employees Join Movember to Raise Prostate Cancer Awareness and Launch New Patient Website
Buford, GA – (November 1, 2024) – Theragenics Corporation®, a recognized leader in minimally invasive Low Dose Rate (LDR) brachytherapy and surgical solutions, is proudly participating in Movember’s annual men’s health awareness and fundraising campaign to raise awareness of prostate cancer. In conjunction with this initiative, Theragenics is excited to launch a new patient website to provide comprehensive information about prostate cancer, treatment options, and the effectiveness of LDR brachytherapy in curing prostate cancer with minimal long term side effects.
Movember is a leading charity dedicated to men’s health in the US and around the world. Best known for their annual Movember fundraising campaign that takes place every November, they fund various projects and receive donations year-round for mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. During Movember, men start November 1st clean-shaven and grow only a moustache for the month, getting friends, family, and colleagues to donate to their effort. Men and women can also choose to run or walk a total of 60 miles, host a virtual event, or commit to other activities that allow people to choose how they want to support Movember.
Theragenics employees will be growing their best moustaches throughout the month to spark conversations and encourage men to prioritize their health. They will also participate in a fundraiser as well as physical challenges to promote healthy lifestyles.
“We are thrilled to participate in Movember and support this important cause,” said Mark Pugh, CEO of Theragenics Corporation. “By raising awareness and providing valuable information, we hope to empower men to make informed decisions about their health and seek appropriate treatment.”
Theragenics’ new patient website will provide patients with easy access to information about prostate cancer, including symptoms, risk factors, and diagnosis. The website will also offer detailed information about LDR brachytherapy, a minimally invasive treatment option for prostate cancer that delivers low doses of radiation directly to the tumor while sparing healthy tissue. Featuring downloadable patient resources, the website is designed to educate patients and their families on prostate cancer and the effectiveness of LDR brachytherapy in curing prostate cancer with minimal long term side effects.
“Our goal is to provide patients with the information they need to make informed decisions about their treatment options,” said Michael Krachon, President at Theragenics. “By launching this new website, we are taking another step towards improving awareness and access to different options for prostate cancer care and treatment.”
